Opening Night
This Christmas Season, Christian Life Assembly presents a lively
musical comedy for the entire family. The Christmas
Post opens on Christmas Eve, 1947 in
mythical Homesboro, Indiana. Hattie McGee’s “newsies” are enthusiastically hawking
the morning edition of THE CHRISTMAS POST,
and Herzog’s Department Store is poised to open for its biggest sales day ever.
Alice Garfield is desperately trying to find “a little more Christmas” for her
two young children, so she has taken a second job as a commission salesperson
at Herzog’s under the watchful eye of Store Manager Maxwell Seldon. Ordinary
themes become extraordinary opportunities to rediscover the wonder of Christmas
and realize anew that, with faith, anything can happen!
this musical comedy is a Norman Rockwell painting come to life! Remembering the days when The Saturday Evening Post
found its way into American homes and hearts, this Broadway style
musical is fast and fun, yet offers a clear message of the true meaning
of Christmas in its entertaining dialogue and drama. The Christmas Post
takes the audience into a world of ordinary Americans who, just like
people today, need to rediscover their faith in Jesus and be reminded of
what Christmas is really all about.
